Latest News - June 2026

Our Winter/Spring talks season has been completed, and we are now looking forward to our Summer Programme of visits. Of course, one of our major events of the year is our Open Garden that will be held at Paloma House, King Lane. Froxfield, GU32 1DW. This is a beautiful garden in a beautiful setting, which has been interestingly restored by the current owners. We are very lucky to have this local Froxfield garden open for our members and residents of Froxfield and Privett to visit on Sunday 14th June between 2 and 5pm. The event will be sign posted and the entrance for the afternoon will be via the back gate in King Lane, (opposite Soal Pond Cottage. Location on the App what3words is: hence.lost.ponies.). We will have tea and homemade cakes, a Pimms stall and plants for sale. Do come along and join us for this lovely village event!

As mentioned last month, we have two outings scheduled for June and July, the first visiting a Gertrude Jekyll garden in Upton Grey on the afternoon of Wednesday 24th June and the other to Hambledon House in Hambledon on the evening of Wednesday 8th July. At the time of writing both of these outings are fully subscribed but Pippa, our Events Secretary Is holding a cancellation list. She can be contacted on either 07803 906312 or pjmchapman@yahoo.co.uk

Don’t forget to put the date of our Summer Show in your diary! It will be held at Froxfield Village Hall at 2pm on Saturday 15th August and as usual the hall will be full of all the Summer flowers, fruit and vegetables which are in season in August. A reminder that the photographic class titles are ‘Garden Art’ and ‘Fruit and Vegetables’.
