A Gertrude Jekyll Restored Hampshire Garden 2 pm
Gertrude Jekyll designed this important historic garden in 1908. John and Rosamund Wallinger bought the almost derelict property in 1984. What they didn’t realise was that underneath the jungle were the foundations of a very special garden, designed for a house belonging to Charles Holme, a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement. The Wallingers had very little gardening knowledge but having discovered a full set of plans at the University of California at Berkeley, they set about the restoration. What they have created is now believed to be the most complete and authentic Jekyll garden in existance.
By kind permission of Rosamund Wallinger
